The farm Podere Casciano is situated in the heart of Tuscany, in the hills of the Northern Valley of the river Era.
The nearby places of art and culture such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence, Siena and Lucca can be easily reached. The sea is approximately 40 minutes away and in only 10 minutes by car can be reached the spa resort Casciana Terme.
For those who are willing to pass a holiday of complete relaxation, far
away from everyday city noise, this is the ideal place.
At your arrival you'll get all the necessary information and tips for the best restaurants, wine bars, wineries, sport facilities, supermarkets, banks etc.
We'll
keep you always up to date about events of the nearby Val d'Era hilltop
villages: such as the famous seasonal village festival "Sagra del Cinghiale di Chianni" (The Wild Boar Festival in Chianni).
For those who love spa resorts, it is possible to pass pleasant moments
in the 37° C warm waters and enjoy beauty treatments at the Terme di Casciana spas (we've made an agreement with them for our guests).
It is possible to start from the farm on foot or with the mountain bike for trecking excursions or to ride on horseback in the beautiful nature.
For children is available a real sandy playground, whereas sport fans can play tennis, basket or boccia on the sports field. It
is possible to get relaxed in the beautiful swimming pool, heated and
purified with a modern salt and UV-ray purification plant (without any use of
chlorine and absolutely safe from the hygienic, bacterial and epidermic point of
view) with a charming whirlpool angle.
The farm is furthermore equipped with splendid stables with wooden
chestnut beams, airy roof according to the Tuscan tradition... your horses will find a comfortable accommodation inside of the boxes that are available.
Next to the pool is situated the laboratory for the production and tasting of our products, such as extra-vergin olive oil, wine, preserves, jam. The barbecue and wood oven will
be at your complete disposal for grilling meat or fish or to bake your
own fresh bread and pizza. During the months of October, November
and December, guests can live the tradition together with the manual
olive picking and the subsequent pressing, according to our antique
methods: cold and slow pressing at about 400 atm, oil separation
through natural decantation. Thanks to these procedures we obtain our Oro di Toscana, an oil of very low acidity, intense taste and colour.
